Dillon Morley

Dillon Morley has had a distinguished legal career spanning 50 years, including 41 years as a legal practitioner. Over that time, he has served as a court clerk, law clerk, solicitor, barrister, Judge, and has now returned to practise as a barrister at the New South Wales Bar following his retirement from the bench in February 2026.

Dillon began his legal career as a clerk in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and spent five years as a law clerk at Clayton Utz. He then practised as a solicitor for twenty-eight years, followed by seven years at the Bar, before serving for seven years as a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2), sitting in family law.

Dillon now practises from Coram Chambers in Phillip Street, Sydney, and accepts briefs in family law, wills, probate and succession, family provision, equity, commercial, contractual and real property disputes, employment and restraint of trade disputes, and professional negligence and disciplinary matters.

In family law, Dillon appears in all types of matters in Division 1, especially complex parenting and property matters and appellate matters in the Appeals Division. He is also keen to accept briefs to fully prepare matters for hearing in Division 2 of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including conferencing parties and witnesses, giving detailed advice on evidence, and preparing affidavits and financial statements.

Dillon is a qualified mediator and one of the first family dispute resolution practitioners. He has extensive experience in family law and family provision alternative dispute resolution and will shortly commence practice as an arbitrator in family law matters.
